State University of Bangladesh (SUB) has organized a seminar on “Novel Corona virus: Global Health Emergency and Public Health Concern in Bangladesh”

On Monday, February 17, 2020 a seminar on “Novel Coronavirus: Global Health Emergency and Public Health Concern in Bangladesh” was organized by Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh (SUB). The objective of this seminar was to develop better understanding and awareness about COVID-19. Professor Dr. Nawzia Yasmin, Dean of School of Health Sciences and Head of Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh and Dr. Md. Ikram Hossain Bhuiyan, MPH student were the key speakers in the seminar. Dr. Nawzia delivered her speech on overall global situation of COVID-19. The other speaker Dr. Ikram highlighted his speech by addressing the characteristics, disease trend, symptoms, current myths of COVID-19 and explained all the preventive strategies based on World Health Organization (WHO) for tackling the COVID-19 infections.
Dr. Mohammad Mushtuq Husain, Advisor of Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research (IEDCR) were present in the seminar and enriched the discussion by providing the information about the current scenario, possibilities, preparedness of novel coronavirus in Bangladesh.
Abu Taher Khan, Director of Career Development Centre, Promotion and Marketing (SUB), Prof. Md. Saiful Islam Pathan, Head of Department of Pharmacy, Muhammad Masud Tarek, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Mr. Md. Asgar Ali, Controller, (SUB), other faculty members and students from Department of Public Health, Department of Pharmacy, Department of Computer Science, and Department of Law, State University of Bangladesh, health professionals and many others from different sectors attended the seminar.
