A workshop on “Research findings on Evolution of Reproductive Health and Unfinished Agenda in SRHR” was organized by Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh with support from Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) on Wednesday, 25th April, 2018. Prof. Dr. Nawzia Yasmin, Head, Dept of Public Health inaugurated the seminar. She introduced the resource person Dr. Halida Hanum Akhter, Former Chief of Party, USAID-DFID, NHSDP and Country Representative, Pathfinder International. Prof. Yasmin welcomed the honorable Vice -Chancellor Prof. Dr. Sayeed Salam, Prof. Dr. Md. Moklesur Rahman Sarker, Director, IQAC, Mamoon Al Rasheed, Additional Director, IQAC, Prof. Maj. Gen. Mohammad Quamruzzaman (Retd) Head, Department of Business Studies, Khan Ferdousur Rahman, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Environmental Science, SUB, representatives from different organizations and all faculty members of Department of Public Health in the workshop. In the key note paper Dr. Halida briefly described about government’s commitment to women’s health; realize their rights; national level laws, policies and entitlements for all across life cycle, unfinished agenda of ICPD and MDG, adolescents in Bangladesh, rights of female child under 18 yr. old, violence against adolescents, maternal mortality status, NHSDP coverage; essential service package at NHSDP, need based approach at NHSDP, empower pregnant mothers care seeking in obstetric emergency, NHSDP emphasis: alignment with universal health coverage, improve policy for access to family planning, income – enhance women’s position. There were question answer sessions at the end of the presentation.
