World Environment Day 2018 Celebrated at State University of Bangladesh

World Environment Day was celebrated on June 5, 2018 with due importance at State University of Bangladesh (SUB). Organized by SUB Environmental Science Alumni Association (SUBESAA) the participants formed a human chain in front of SUB Own Campus with this year’s theme “Beat Plastic Pollution.” Then with Professor Dr. Amir H. Khan, Advisor of the Department of Environmental Science at SUB in the chair and hosted by Khan Ferdousour Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Environmental Science at SUB, Dr. Syed Hafizur Rahman, Professor, Department of Environmental Science of Jahangirnagar University presented the keynote speech in a seminar titled “Beat Plastic Pollution: Bangladesh Perspective.” Dr. Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, Professor, Department of Development Studies, University of Dhaka and Chairman, Unnayan Onneshan; and Mr. Md. Touhidul Islam, Associate Professor and Chairman, Department of Peace and Conflict Studies, University of Dhaka discussed on the paper. The program was inaugurated by Professor Dr. Sayeed Salam, Vice Chancellor, SUB. Dr. M. A. Matin, Director General, Rural Development Academy (RDA) Bogra and Mr. Abu Naser Khan, Chairman, Poribesh Bachao Andolon (PoBA) were present as Chief Gust and Special Guest respectively. Teachers, students, invited guests and other dignitaries were present in the program.
