Dr. Md. Sayeed Salam is a professor of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Vice Chancellor of State University of Bangladesh. He has many years of overseas and local teaching, research and administrative experience in globally renowned universities and companies. He passed the SSC exam securing the 20th position in the Combined Merit List from Bogra Zilla School in 1977 and the HSC exam securing the 12th position in the Combined Merit List from Bogra Azizul Haque College in 1979 under Rajshahi Education Board. He obtained his BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology in 1984. He obtained his MSc and PhD in Computer Science from the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 1990 and 1995 respectively. He became a member of Australian Computer Society and a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineer, USA, in 1997 and 2007 respectively. He has published widely in international research journals and conference proceedings in the field of application of optimization techniques and expert system. He is a reviewer of a few international and national research journals. He served as a member of Selection Committee for awarding Undergraduate, Masters and PhD scholarships to students of various universities located in Asia to study at various universities in Europe under Euro 2.97 Million INTACT project of European Commission.
