PROGRAM DESIGN:

The LL.B. (Hons.) course offered by the Department of Law of the State University of Bangladesh aims at producing law graduates of top standards. They are expected to serve the nation by contributing to a host of legal professions particularly in judicial, legal and administrative services; financial and commercial institutions; research and policy making areas; and public and international organizations.

SPECIAL FEATURES:

The Law Department is committed to arrange need-based special training course for the departing students after completion of their 12th semester, The aim is to prepare the SUB law graduates adequately for various competitive examinations including those conducted by the Bar Council and Judicial Service Commission.

In addition, the Department would arrange for its law graduates at least three placements every year at reputed Law Chambers or Human Right Organizations.

ADMISSION REQUIRMENT:

For Students Under national curriculum:

Minimum CGPA 2.5 both in SSC & HSC or Equivalent.

For students from English medium curriculum:

O -Level : 5 courses with minimum CGPA 2.5
A -Level : 2 courses with minimum CGPA 2.5

FINANCIAL AID & AWARDS:

A number of tuition fee waivers are available for Students having good SSC/ O-level and HSC/ A-level results and good performances in admission test. In addition, the Department of Law awards three merit scholarships for each batch on the basis of semester final exam results. Dean awards and Presidential awards are also given to the outstanding graduates. For details, please contact the admission section or the Department of Law, at the SUB.

CAMPUS:

The highly acclaimed main campus is conveniently located at the intersection of road 27 and Satmasjid Road in Dhanmondi. SUB is one of the few private universities in Bangladesh to have its own campus. Department of LAW is located at the first floor of the main campus building.

FACULTY:

The core Faculty comprises law graduates from the Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka having excellent scholastic performance in their respective field. Some of the faculty has additional foreign qualifications, training and research experience. The Department has also secured scholastic service of a large pool of adjunct faculty from the University of Dhaka, Judicial Service and reputed Law Chambers

Dr. Asif Nazrul, Professor of Law, University of Dhaka and a reputed law expert supports and supervises the LL.B. (Hons.) program as Advisor of the Department of Law, SUB.
