Master of Public Health (MPH) Program

The mission of Public Health is to fulfil society's interest in assuring conditions in which people can lead a healthy quality life. Public health carries out its mission through organized, interdisciplinary efforts that addresses the physical, mental and environmental health concerns of communities and populations at risk for disease injury. The MPH course has been developed in close association and consultation with domestic as well as overseas reputed universities and also health care providers to fulfil the needs of today's public health professionals. The degree provides the students with a clear understanding of the roles of the core disciplines in public health. It also provides students with sufficient knowledge of the theory and terminology used by these disciplines to allow effective participation in interdisciplinary public health efforts and with specialized skills in at least one public health discipline. The course is concerned with how to improve the health of populations, communities and particular groups within them, through: the provision and evaluation of treatment and care; and the investigation and control of environmental threats to health. The course aims to equip students with skills to enable them to analyse public health problems in developing as well as developed countries by designing and evaluating actions to improve public health. Theory and practice are equally important - our students will receive a balanced education through interactive learning. The overall objective of the course is to prepare public health professional draw on knowledge and skills from a variety of disciplines to define, critically assess, and to resolve public health related problems. MPH graduates will have a common grounding as professionals in the field of public health, which will enable them to effectively address the broad spectrum of public health issues they will face during their professional careers.

Admission Requirements
MBBS / Equivalent Master in Relevant discipline
B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. Physiotherapy or equivalent.
Degree Requirements
The Program design offers 7 core courses, 36 elective courses / optional courses in the syllabus curriculum. The university encourages most of the core courses to be completed in the first two semesters. There is arrangement for flexible options as per need of the respective learner.
