Diploma in Medical Ultrasound (D.M.U.)

Course Duration

One year (Four quarters of 12 weeks each)

Number of Students

Twenty students will be enrolled at different batches. Sessions are April to March and October to September. Classes will be held exclusively on Friday. Students will de admitted on first come first serve basis.

Eligibility Requirements

M.B.B.S. degree or its equivalent
BMDC registration

 
Course fee

BDT 1,20,000 for one academic year. BDT 32,500 to be paid on admission (BDT 10,000 admission fee plus BDT 22,500 1st quarter tuition fee) and the remaining BDT 67,500 to be paid in three installments of BDT 22,500 (2nd, 3rd & 4th quarter tuition fees) in the first week of each quarter.

 

Class schedule

Lecture or videotape classes will be taken from 8-00 am to 12-00 pm every Friday for the students of Apr-Mar session and from 2-00 pm to 6-00 pm every Friday for the Oct-Sept session. Two hours of practical work or clinical experience will be given to each group of five to six students every alternate week from 2-00 pm to 6-00 pm for the students of Apr-Mar session and from 8-00 am to 12-00 pm for the Oct-Sept session. Assignments, requiring 10-12 hours of home study every week, will be given to the students at the end of each class. Written, Practical and Oral examinations will be taken on the respective modules at the end of each quarter.

 

Faculty

This program will draw its primary faculty from graduates of Michener Institute for Applied Health Sciences, Toronto, Canada. You will also have the opportunity to learn from some of today's best Sonologists or Radiologists in our country.

Fourth Quarter

Neurosonology & Vascular Ultrasound                                              20 Hours

Ultrasound of Musculoskeletal & Superficial Structures                      20 Hours

Ultrasound Scanning Principles & Protocols  IV                                10 Hours

 

Total (excluding assignments & examinations)                                    200 Hours

 

Admission procedure

Interested individuals who meet admission requirements must apply to be admitted to the course by submitting the following to the Course Coordinator.

 

·        Completed application/registration  form.

·        Two copies of recent passport-size photographs.

·        Photocopies of M.B.B.S. certificate, transcript/marksheet, internship certificate & BMDC registration certificate.
