Seminar on "Pharmacy Education: Present and Future"

Department of Pharmacy of State University of Bangladesh organized a seminar on "Pharmacy Education: Present and Future" on the 7th December 2011 at 3:30 p.m. at the Seminar Room of SUB.
Mr. Abdul Muktadir (Managing Director, Incepta Pharmaceuticals Ltd. and Secretary General, Bangladesh Aushad Shilpa Shamity) graced the occasion as Chief Guest and also delivered the keynote speech in the seminar with the respected Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury; Honorary Advisor, Prof. Dr. Abdur Rashid; Treasurer of SUB and Advisor of School of Health Sciences, Major General Dr. M. Shahjahan; Registrar, Prof. A.Y.M. Ekram-ud-Daulah and Head of Department, Prof. Dr. Rebecca Banoo.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Abdul Muktadir, conveyed informative and inspirational message on the current status of the pharmaceutical industries and the scope that is made available to the meritorious students emerging out with a strong pharmaceutical background. He discussed the potential and imminent progress to be made by the pharmaceutical companies in the near future and is hopeful that it is going to stretch the area of job opportunities available for the much deserved and qualified pharmacy students. He also answered further queries from our fellow students regarding the current industrial and job status in the Pharma sector, assuring indiscrimination between students from public and private universities in the job recruitment.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury appreciated the exceptional standards of pharmacy education held in SUB and that the department will receive full cooperation and resources necessary for further development of the curriculum and nurturing of the potential students. The Advisor also added that these very ingenious candidates are doing extremely well in their respective job fields particularly in the industries.
The seminar stated the hopeful perspectives of the pharmaceutical sector and that there will be more fields available for the emerging quality students.
