State University of Bangladesh Organized Anti-Smoking Campaign

Dept. of CSE, State University of Bangladesh (SUB) hosted a campaign against tobacco in collaboration with Bangladesh Open Source Network (BdOSN) and WHO, Bangladesh on December 3, 2008. The Vice Chancellor of SUB Professor Dr. Iftekhar Ghani Choudhury was present as the Chief Guest. During this campaign, the students were enlightened and informed about the harm of the tobacco. Mr. Munir Hasan of BdOSN presented the basic information and spoke about the harmful effects of tobacco. He mentioned that Tobacco is the single largest reason for the death of bulk of people around the world. Major General (Retd.) Dr. M. Shahjahan, Advisor, School of Health Sciences, SUB, Professor A.A.K.M. Lutfuzzaman, Dean, School of Science and Technology and Dr. Md. Humayun Kabir, Advisor, Dept. of CSE, SUB also spoke on the occasion. Professor A.Y.M. Ekram-ud-Daulah, Registrar offered vote of thanks.
