A Certificate Course on “Research Methodology”, organized by the Department of Public Health, State University of Bangladesh (SUB) took place in the SUB on 14th May, 2009 at 6:00 P.M. inaugurated by Prof. Mahmudur Rahman, Advisor, MPH Program, SUB. This three (03) week course has been scheduled from 14th May to 6th June, 2009 from 6-9 P.M. and over 30 scholars from different public and private organizations of home and abroad have been present as participants. The course is conducted by the Professor of Epidemiology & Biostatistics at the University of Southern Mississippi, USA and Director of the Center for International Research and Education, USA, Dr Amal Mitra, MD, MPH, DrPH who has got over 20-years’ experience in health research and has published over 75 research articles to his credit. The overarching goal of the course is to provide professionals with the knowledge, tools and skills in different methods of epidemiological research, designing research projects using concepts of research methods, getting prepared to write projects, knowing the ethical issues that are applied in health research, learning how to develop a questionnaire, learning basic tools of statistics and being able to use SPSS, a statistical software for data management in research. |
