In accordance with ACC meeting decision, the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) has started monthly seminar series with the aim of enhancing inter department knowledge sharing. As a part of that academic exercise the inaugural presentation was made by department of environmental science.
The seminar was conducted in SUB own campus and participated by a good number of faculty members, officers and students. The seminar was started with the introductory speech by Prof Asif Nazrul, advisor, department of Law, SUB. The key note was presented by Kazi Farhed Iqubal, Acting Head, Department of Environmental Science, SUB. The title of the speech was “Climate Change: Is Bangladesh really vulnerable?” The extent to which Bangladesh is vulnerable to climate change impacts has been critically analyzed.
Prof. S.M.A. Faiz, former Vice Chancellor of Dhaka University and Member BOG, SUB made his expert comments on the impact of climate change and role of universities in combating climate change. In the open session interesting discussion and interaction took place in which good number of students and faculty members participated.
At the end, Prof Iftekhar Ghani Chowdhury, VC, SUB wrap up the discussion and made some important observation on the global challenge of climate change.
The second lecture of the seminar series will take place on 2nd of August, Sunday at room 205, SUB campus.
