A seminar was organized by the department of Food Science, Technology & Nutrition (FSTN) on February 10, 2010 at 11 am in the seminar room of State University of Bangladesh. The key note speaker was Intisar C. Khan, Manager, Group Microbiology Services, Dairy Crest Ltd, UK. In the keynote paper the speaker elaborated different aspects of HACCP and how it can be applied in the Food Industry of Bangladesh. The seminar was chaired by Prof. Dr. S. F. Rubbi Head of the department and conducted by Prof. Dr. Khairul Azam, Dept of FSTN. HACCP involves control of quality from the grass root level to finished product. Students got a first hand knowledge about the application of HACCP for the control of quality in food industry. Registrar, Controller of examination, Head, faculty members and students of all departments of SUB attended. Besides, representatives from different food industries were also present in the seminar.
