Dr. Md. Masud Parvez, an alumnus of Department of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh has been appointed as a Senior Scientist-II at AbbVie in the United States of America.

Dr. Md. Masud Parvez, an alumnus of the 8th batch of the Bachelor of Pharmacy (Hons.) program of the Department of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh (SUB), has recently been appointed as a Senior Scientist-II (drug metabolism and pharmacokinetics; DMPK-BA) at AbbVie (World’s 7th largest American publicly traded biopharmaceutical company separated in 2013 from its mother Abbott laboratories) state-of-the-art DMPK R&D centre located in San Francisco, CA, USA. Dr. Parvez is one of the most brilliant and successful alumni of the Department of Pharmacy, State University of Bangladesh. After completing his B. Pharm. (Hons.) degree from SUB in 2010, he got admitted in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacogenomics in Inje University, South Korea and obtained Master’s degree in Pharmacology in 2013. Later on, he has been awarded his Ph.D. degree in Pharmacology from the same University in 2017. After completing his Ph.D., he worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Pharmacology, Inje University, South Korea, and Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Toronto, Canada. Again, he came to South Korea and joined the Department of Pharmacology, Inje University as a Research Assistant Professor in the year 2018 where he worked from May 2018 to October 2019. Later on, Dr. Parvez moved to the United States and joined the Department of Pharmacy, Washington State University as a Research Associate (Faculty position) in November 2019 where he worked until his joining in AbbVie Biopharmaceutical Company, USA in May 2021.
