Sayeedur Rahman

PhD in ELT from Jawaharlal Nehru University


Dr. Sayeedur Rahman is a Professor of English at the Institute of Modern languages (IML) University of Dhaka. He was also the Head of the Department of English at the IML. He received PhD in English Language Teaching (ELT) from prestigious Jawaharlal Nehru University as an Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) scholar. He has extensively worked as an ESL/EFL teacher and researcher for more than 20 years, and has published widely in the areas of Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and Sociolinguistics. He has worked as an expert and education consultant with DFID, UNDP, ADSL, UNICEF and British Council. He also worked as an Academic Advisor of BRAC Institute of Languages (BIL), and founded the first MA in TESOL program at BRAC University. He was awarded the Researcher Links Fellowships from British Council, UK in 2014 as a Visiting Fellow with the OU, UK.
